myFASTLink was established in 2001 as a hobby project and was initially a web portal specializing in search aggregation from AltaVista along with other search engines that were popular at that time including Yahoo, Webcrawler, Goto.com, Lycos, InfoSeek, Excite and Hotbot. Different sets of domains names including myfastlink.net were used. It provided users with the best possible search results and also featured curated links to tech gadgets and other cool stuff. There were many sites of this kind since search engines during that era were mostly pure keyword index based and it was useful for one to search across multiple search engines as each search engine provided quite varied search results. All that changed once Google took over with its unique PageRank technology.
myFastLink also hosted several internet forum focusing on system administration, networks and web hosting. Around 2010, myFastLink also provided free content hosting from a business grade DSL line to select group of users under various subdomains of .myfastlink.com. The main site of my FAST Link has been somewhat dormant since 2004 as I got busier with my day job in system administration and other tech hobbies. I still keep the domain active along with basic hosting mainly for my emails accounts hosted on this primary domain. This site might make a comeback with HTML5, IoT and AI. When? I am not sure.
